Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer joined Pearl Jam as they played their first concert in three years on Saturday (September 18th) at the Sea.Hear.Now Festival in Asbury Park, NJ. A rep for Pearl Jam confirmed Klinghoffer’s role as a touring musician with the band, according to Consequence of Sound.

Pearl Jam played a 20-song headlining set at the Festival, including several from their latest album, Gigaton, live for the first time. They also honored Charlie Watts with a performance of The Rolling Stones’ “Waiting on a Friend” and “Wishlist”; covered Bruce Springsteen’s “My City Ruins”; and brought out Lenny Kaye to help them close the show with “Rockin’ in the Free World.”

Klinghoffer was let go by Red Hot Chili Peppers in December of 2019 after 10 years together.
