Metallica‘s Kirk Hammett joined Judas Priest on Sunday (September 26th) at Louisville’s Louder Than Life festival. Hammett played with Priest on a cover of the early-Fleetwood Mac classic “The Green Manalishi (With The Two Pronged Crown),” and performed using “Greeny” — the late Mac co-founder Peter Green‘s legendary Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard that also once belonged to the late-Gary Moore.
Later during Metallica’s set, the band surprised the crowd by performing 1991’s “Black Album” in its entirety.
Priest’s performance was their last of the tour. The band announced they have postponed their remaining U.S. dates while guitarist Richie Faulkner deals with an undisclosed “major medical heart condition.” Fans are encouraged to hold on to their tickets for make-up dates.
Metallica next plays on October 8th and 10th in Sacramento, California at Aftershock at Discovery Park.
