SIDE NOTES
- Sammy Hagar would love nothing more than to reunite with his supergroup Chickenfoot — but admitted there are issues with guitarist Joe Satriani. The band, which also features Van Halen‘s Michael Anthony on bass, and Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ drummer Chad Smith, released two albums and toured, before the members’ primary gigs ultimately pulled the band apart.
- During Hagar’s 2021 chat on Inside With Paulo Baron, the “Red Rocker” was asked about any future Chickenfoot action: “Absolutely. I don’t know when. Joe (Satriani) won’t do anything because of the pandemic. I asked Joe to do something this year and he said, ‘I ain’t f***ing doing it, I’m not going in front of no people!’ ‘Easy Joe!’ Joe’s a fanatic, he’s a real character. He’s passive-aggressive. You say anything to him and goes, ‘Oh, sure, what do you want to do? I’m OK with anything.’ And then you say, ‘Hey Joe, let’s dress up like women and go on stage. . .’ ‘F*** you, I ain’t doing that!’ He seems like he’s easy-going but he’s not. He won’t play. So hopefully, he gets over that.”
