’90s power pop rockers the Gin Blossoms have just announced their “30 Miserable Years Tour” in celebration of their multi-platinum breakthrough 1992 album New Miserable Experience. The band will play the album in its entirety along with other hits. The Blossoms hit the road on February 18th in Fort Pierce, Florida with the 15-city winter trek winding down on March 12th in Little Rock, Arkansas. This summer, the Gin Blossoms will be out on the road with Barenaked Ladies and Toad The Wet Sprocket for the “Last Summer On Earth Tour.”

Gin Blossoms frontman Robin Wilson talked about recording New Miserable Experience in the tour announcement, admitting, “It was a hard to make NME, but we knew it was special. It’s humbling that it still resonates and we still have jobs in the music biz.”

Guitarist Jesse Valenzuela added, “It’s funny how time slips away. We are still so proud that even after all these years the album still resonates with fans.”

Valenzuela explained to us that aside from the band members’ move into middle age, little has changed for them when it comes to hitting the road: [“Y’know what, it hasn’t changed that much. There’s a total lack of enthusiasm right before the show, and then someone says, ‘Let’s get this thing over with,’ and then they go out and play really hard, as hard as they can. I don’t know why, it’s like they’re saving their energy. And then after the show there’s this horrible post-mortem and then there’s this low-grade bickering, and then we go back to the hotel and then the guys adjourn to somebody’s room and have a little party.”] SOUNDCUE (:27 OC: . . . a little party)
