Yoder: St. Joe’s Host Wiffleball Derby

BOALSBURG – The St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy will be hosting the Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby tournament on Saturday August 23rd.
This event is run by the St. Joe’s students themselves and will help raise money for the Wolfpack baseball program.
People who will be competing in this event will attempt to hit as many home runs as possible in a multiple round tournament design crowning an overall home run derby champion in three separate brackets.
The three brackets that will be featured will be the Gold, the Silver and the Challenger brackets.
The Gold bracket will be for boys and girls who are in the ninth grade or higher. The Silver bracket will be for boys and girls who are in the eight grade or lower. Last but not least, the Challenger bracket will be for boys and girls who struggle with physical or intellectual challenges and it is for all grades.
If you would like to have your child participate, it is ten dollars per person or if you would like to be a sponsor for the event you can be on of three different sponsor levels.
The first level is the RBI sponsor where from 100 to 249 dollars, you will receive recognition during the event.
The second level is the Double Play sponsor where from 250-499 dollars will also receive recognition at the event, but will also have their company or team banner hanging on the St. Joe’s home baseball field during the 2026 season.
The third and final level is the Grand Slam sponsor which is 500 or more dollars. On this level, you get the recognition at the event, company or team banner at the home field, but also will receive company and on event on the website.

So remember, Saturday August 23rdis when Wiffleball Home Run Derby will begin and the event will be held at the St. Joe’s Catholic Academy on 901 Boalsburg Pike, Boalsburg, Pa. The check in time for those competing will be at 10:15 a.m. and start time the derby will be at 11 a.m.
So come on out and support a great cause for kids who love the game of baseball and to express their faith.
