LEWISTOWN – Hello again wrestling fans! We got ourselves another fun interview for you with local pro wrestlers. Now normally we would have just a one on one interview, but not today as we had not one, but two wrestlers. Today I got to sit down with members of the Sons of Mifflin County in Edward James and Emberly Rae.
JY: Who inspired you to get into pro wrestling and why?
EJ: Hulk Hogan was the biggest thing. I watched WCW and saw Stunning Steve Austin beat Bobby Eaton for the WCW TV Title and have been hooked ever since.
ER: Lita, Maryse, Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan. I was 12 years old when I got into wrestling. I came across Lita and the Hardy Boyz.
JY: What was your first match like?
EJ: I was a nervous wreck, I’m not going to lie, was not in the best of shape. Since then I have continued to push to continue to get better each day.
ER: My first experience was a last minute decision in a Pittsburgh organization. Went out with James and was nervous too. Confused with what I was doing. I continue to work hard and get better.
JY: What has been your favorite moment in wrestling so far?
EJ: Just being able to travel, work at different companies, meeting new people and learning new things.
ER: I have come into a company that is so appreciative and supportive group who has literally turned my life around when I was at my lowest. The energy from the crowd is addictive and seeing the smiles on kids’ faces.
JY: What do you love most about pro wrestling?
EJ: The excitement! The ability to push myself and see what I am capable of.
ER: Connecting with people. Being able to entertain people. Wrestling can be an escape for people from their problems.
JY: Any advice to someone looking to get into wrestling?
EJ: Invest in yourself. Dedicate yourself. It can be easy but at the same time it is not easy.
ER: Keep a positive mindset. You need to invest in your dreams, make goals, it is not an easy process.
There you have it folks! That was our little interview with SOMC members Edwards James and Emberly Rae. I personally would like to thank them both for taking the time and answering my questions.
Until Next Time!
