MILROY – Blanchard ends regular season with bang, literally, as the dynamic duo of Trevor Hanna and Peyton Johnson led the offensive attack as the Bees defeated the Foxpro Predators by the final score of 16-5 under the lights on Thursday in CCBL action.
The Bees were buzzing right away as in the top of the first inning, Blanchard scored five runs in the frame including a massive three run home run by Hanna to go up 5-0.
Foxpro responded in the bottom half of the inning where the Predators got some runs to Jaxson Pupo who drew a walk with the bases loaded to bring in Nick Negula. Then Ethan Eichhorn grounded into a double play but scored Rylan Bailey and then finally Jayden Smith singled in courtesy runner Evan Pupo to cut the lead down to 5-3.
A few innings later, Hanna struck again and blasted another three run home run to left bringing in himself, Aaron Miller and Cayde McCloskey, extending the Bees’ lead to 8-3.
Bailey scored the lone run in the bottom half of the frame with a solo homer to left.
But when the second half of the game began, it became the Peyton Johnson show as during the top of the fifth, Johnson absolutely tanked one over the left field for the Bees’ third three run home run.
Blanchard kept going in the top of the seventh inning, scoring five more runs which involved Johnson’s second three run homer and the team’s fourth for the game to make it 16-4.
Nick Negula drove in the very last run of the night for the Predators with a solo shot in the top of the seventh.
A big night on the mound for the Bees for relief pitcher Cru Stover who went six innings and held the Foxpro bats in check and collected 10 strikeouts.
Blanchard finishes the regular season on a high note and will await the start of the CCBL playoffs which will begin on Thursday July 10th.
Meanwhile Foxpro will look to regroup as the Predators will have a double header on Sunday at home where they welcome Spring Creek and Spring Mills with the first game starting at 2 p.m.
Best of luck to both teams!
Until Next Time!
