Des Moines, IA – Former Penn State Nittany Lion Bo Nickal suffered his first loss in the UFC after being defeated by Reiner de Ridder during UFC Fight Night Saturday Night.

It was during the second round of the fight where Ridder at 1:53 was able to score the knockout blow to pick up the victory.

Ridder showed why he was a former champion as had out striked Nickal 104-40 hitting 91 of his 104 strikes, having a percentage of 88 percent while Nickal landed 24 of his 40 total strikes which was 60 percent.

Nickal scored the only takedown in the fight while holding Ridder to zero takedowns despite three attempts.

Nickal is now (7-1) in his UFC career and will see how he rebounds in his next fight.
