Weaver announced as new MC girls basketball coach

Crystal Weaver has been a resident of Mifflin County for over 40 years and a graduate of Indian Valley High School in 1995. During her four years at Indian Valley, she earned four varsity letters in basketball and softball. Crystal began her coaching career as a Student-Coach for the Jr. High team in eleventh grade. After high school, Crystal attended Penn State University where she majored in Elementary Education, and later added Mid-Level Math to her certification.
 She has served as a teacher in the Mifflin County School District for 24 years.  She currently teaches math at the Mifflin County Middle School.

Coach Weaver has spent 21 years coaching Girls’ Basketball  in the Mifflin County School District under various coaches.  She has coached JH, Freshmen, JV and Varsity Assistant Basketball throughout her coaching career.  For the past 4 years she served as the statistician for the JV/Varsity Girls Basketball program and has worked Event Staff for the JH program. Crystal is passionate about basketball and helping the student-athletes of Mifflin County understand the value of hard work, commitment, and leadership.

The Athletic Department is pleased to have Coach Weaver on staff as a dedicated  teacher who values education based athletics.  She has dedicated her life to caring about students in the Mifflin County School District.

Crystal lives in Belleville with her husband, Jason and two daughters, Emma (21) and Payton (16), and her two dogs, Jack and Winnie. She currently teaches 7th grade math at Mifflin County Middle School.

Weaver stated, “I have had the privilege of coaching alongside exceptional individuals throughout my past. I am extremely excited to take on this leadership role and build upon the natural talent that many of our student-athletes already possess. I hope to show our student-athletes the importance of mastering the fundamentals of the game while simultaneously building character and leadership. I am dedicated to fostering an environment where players can thrive in a supportive, positive setting so that we can compete.
