Despite having their leading rusher and defensive stopper Wyatt Ehrenzeller, the Juniata Indians battled tough but fell to Upper Dauphin Friday 20-13.
Juniata quarterback Aaron Kanagy led the way for Big Red throwing for 5-for-21 67 yards.
Kanagy also led the team in rushing as well with 9 carries for 67 yards. Also, leading the Juniata rushing attack were Seth Laub 7-53 and Talan Brandt 16-47.
Jasper Shepps finished with two catches for 42 yards. 258 total yards.
The Trojans scored first as Konner Walker broke loose on a 45-yard run . The 2-point conversion failed at 9:50.
Juniata bounced back to take an early lead when Kanagy ran it in from 1-yard out. With the Jasper Shepps kick, the Indians led 7-6 at 1:21 left in the first.
In the Third Quarter Juniata increased its lead to 13-7 on a Kanagy 3-yard TD run (Jasper Shepps kick failed) at 9:30.
It was all the Trojans in the Fourth Quarter as they finished with two consecutive scores.
Alexander Hepler scored for Upper Dauphin on a 1-yard TD run ( Isaiah Dyer kick good), tying the contest at 13 with 5:52 left.
UDA’s defense got in to the scoring act seconds later when Aiden Ritter scored on a 3-yard interception return (Dyer kick good) at 4:30.
