Third-Inning Burst Enough To Lead GVAA 13U Past MC 13U All Stars

The GVAA 13U team scored five runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat the MIfflin County 13U All Stars 7-1 on Tuesday at Old Bridge.

GVAA got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Cooper Lewis singled, scoring two runs, Connor Lowe hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Jake Michalski singled, scoring one run, and Anthony Santorsola singled, scoring one run.

Brody Keefer took the loss for MC. The starting pitcher went four innings, giving up seven runs on six hits, striking out none and walking four. Santorsola led things off on the bump for GVAA. The starter gave up two hits and one run (zero earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two.

Cohen Ritchey and Levi Sharp each collected one hit for Mifflin County.

Gavin Foody, Michalski, Lewis, Joe Cinalli, Santorsola, and Lowe each collected one hit for GVAA. Lewis went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. GVAA had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Jackson Duzenski and Teo Respes led the team with two walks each. Foody stole three bases. GVAA turned one double play in the game.

Mifflin County plays at home on Wednesday against Broomall/Newton in their next game.
