The Lions even Championship series with the Undines in Bellefonte major league action

BELLEFONTE- After falling to the Undines in their first meeting in the Bellefonte Little League’s Championship Series, the Lions evened the series at One Thursday topping their opponent 7-1.

The Lions were led on the mound was Andrew Gall who was lights out, striking out 13 Undines’ batters, allowing just one hit along the way.

He also spearheaded the offensive charge, going 3-for-3, 3 runs and an RBI.

Teammate Levi Gall was next with a 2-for-3 effort with 3RBIs.

Rounding out the multiple hitters was  Dylan Foust. Foust finished with a 2-for-3 afternoon scoring once.

After sending the Undines down in order in the first, the Lions posted a run in the bottom of the inning.

Andrew Gall started things with a single into centerfield. He stole second, and scored on an RBI single by Levi Gall.

Both defenses took care of the second inning when both teams shut down the other.

In the bottom of the third, the Lions added to its lead.

Holden Howard started things with a single into left field.

His time on base was short as Andrew Gall doubled, putting runners on second and third.

Levi Gall grounded into an RBI fielder’s choice, scoring Howard from third.

Andrew Gall, after moving up to third on the play, stole home, upping the lead to a 3-0 advantage.

Foust ended the scoring in the inning on a double by Maddie Chin.

Gall continued to cruise through the line up, sending the Undines down in the fourth.

The Lions added three more in the fourth, upping the lead to 7-0.

In the top of the sixth, the Undines refused to go down quietly as they were able to get the bases loaded.

Wes Cooke brought in Levi Hamilton on a sacrifice fly to end the shut out.

But the Lions regrouped and we’re able to get out of the inning with any more damage. So the championship will be decided Friday back at legendary Webster Field.
