YEAGERTOWN – And then there was one.

Tuesday night two familiars foes met up for the MIfflin County Little League Majors Softball Championship when Burnham met up with Strodes in a winner take all title tilt.

During the regular season, the two both won two of the four games they met in.

So it was a tiebreaker as well as a championship contest, giving the contest a chance to be an instant classic.

The teams did not disappoint as it took until the sixth until the game would be decided.

When the dust settled, Strodes came out on top winning 9-5 capturing the crown.

It was a rollercoaster of momentum as each time exchanged leads before Strodes would pick up the runs they needed late in the game.

Grayce Napikoski went the distance for the winners, allowing three hits and striking out 10.

Burnham brought hurler Chelsea Anewalt. Anewalt was strong on the mound as well as she went four innings striking out four and scattered six hits.

Strodes Mills opened the contest, taking the lead at 2-0.

Napikoski led off the game with a single into left.she stole second.

Brenna Benny walked, putting runners on first and second.

With two outs, both scored on a miscue.

Burnham roared back in the bottom of the second, plating three and took the lead.

Olivia Bedelyon led off with a screaming single. Her teammate Benfer walked. Both their time on base was limited as they were brought in by a huge double by Anewalt, tying the contest at two.

Anewalt was smart on the base paths stealing third and home to give her team the lead.

Strodes Mills battled back to plate two in the fourth, taking back the lead at 4-3.

Benny got the inning started with a double to right field.

Gracelyn Rider blasted an inside-the-park home run.

Like they did earlier in the game, Burnham grabbed back the lead in the bottom of the inning, posting two runs.

Lily Curry led things off with a double. Bella Yoder walked. Both would steal their way home.

But Strodes Mills would get the bats going late, posting five runs in the final two innings to hold onto the contest at 9-5.
