Strodes Mills continues to shine, tops young Belleville squad

LEWISTOWN – Strodes Mills took on Belleville In a Babe Ruth Matchup at Rec Park, Friday.

Strodes Mills would come out the winner on this night, 21-8. Belleville jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. Mason Joyce doubled to center field. Wyatt Kauffman scored on the play. The other three runs would come from errors from Strodes Mills. The home half of the first inning, Strodes Mills would answer back putting three runs on the board.

The only hit in the inning came from Evan Strohecker as he ripped a single into left field.

Strohecker finished the night with a four hit game.  The other runs would come off errors.

Brayden Hunter made his presence felt by having one of the biggest hits of the night in the bottom of the fourth inning. Hunter smashed a 2-run triple to put the game out of reach as seventeen Batters would come to the plate in the inning and 13 runs would cross the plate.

Ezra Beamer,Kayden Hook Benjamin Moore, Chase Moore, and Strohecker  all recorded hits in the game.

Joyce ended the night with 79 pitches.  Dekker Pietzsch and Elijah Henderson came in for relief.

Late in the game. Belleville would record a couple of hits that would go for extra bases.

Jett Powell smashed a triple.

Powell ended the night with two hits. Powell also caught behind the plate. Strodes mills had a great showing on the mound. Chase Moore gave his team quality innings pitching just 60 pitches. Moore and his coaching staff were hoping to let him pitch a complete game but Belleville would put an end to that hope as Moore would be replaced by His brother Benjamin Moore.  Moore would close out the game. Strodes Mills would prove to be too much for Belleville as Strodes Mills finished up another great win in this spectacular season.
