Strodes Mills Babe Ruth fell to McVeytown 8-4 on Tuesday.
A ground out by Ezra Beamer put Strodes Mills Babe Ruth on the board in the top of the first.
Kauffman singled, which helped McVeytown tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
In the bottom of the second, McVeytown broke up the tie when Yetter singled, scoring two runs. Then a single by Cherry followed to extend the lead to 5-1.
McVeytown added one run in the third after Strodes Mills Babe Ruth committed an error.
Joel Beamer opened the game for Strodes Mills Babe Ruth. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking three. Yetter started on the hill for McVeytown. They allowed two hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking two.
Michael McNitt and Beamer were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Strodes Mills Babe Ruth while hitting back-to-back. McNitt went 2-for-3 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with two runs batted in. Beamer stole four bases. Strodes Mills Babe Ruth ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game. Strodes Mills Babe Ruth turned one double play in the game.
Yetter led McVeytown with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-1 on the day. Cherry led McVeytown with two hits in four at bats.
