State College wins late-earned shutout at Cedar Cliff

A second half effort earned State College a 2-0 victory on the road at Carlisle on Thursday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, State College’s Maddy Shomo tipped a goal into the left post from a shot by Joelle Bartlett at 2:29 in the third period. The game saw two penalty strokes awarded, one for each team. State College’s Molly Schreiner saved Carlisle’s attempt by Alexis Bear, while Ella Tambroni scored for State College against Carlisle’s Mackenzie Mulholland. This was Tambroni’s second goal scored via a penalty stroke in as many days.

Next game State College takes on Mechanicsburg in a 50 years of Title IX celebration game held on the Penn State Field Hockey Turf, Friday October 7, JV 12:00 PM, Varsity 1:30 PM.
