State College Little Lions Lose To McDowell Varsity Trojans ends impressive season

The State College Little Lions lost to the Erie McDowell Trojans 5-1 on Tuesday.

McDowell got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning after Mason Maciulewicz homered to center field, scoring three runs, and Colton Orlando doubled, scoring one run.

Jude Scavone started on the bump for the Little Lions. The hurler surrendered two hits and four runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking three. Evan Stranko led things off on the bump for McDowell. The righty surrendered three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none.

Derek Moriarta went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Moriarta, Jake Hall, and Sebastian Rhoades each collected one hit for State College. The Little Lions turned one double play in the game.

Maciulewicz led McDowell with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Maciulewicz, Orlando, Stranko, and Calvin Hiltabidel each collected one hit for the Trojans. McDowell didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brady Kramer had the most chances in the field with seven.
