State College falls to powerful CV squad

STATE COLLEGE – The State College baseball team fell Monday in a tough  contest against Cumberland Valley at home.

CV came out the winners of the contest 6-3.

Cumberland Valley opened up scoring in the first inning, scoring one run.

Cumberland Valley pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning.

Cooper Ryan was on the pitcher’s mound for the State College Little Lions. The pitcher allowed nine hits and six runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four.

Sam Janik threw three and a third innings out of the bullpen.

State College hit one home run on the day. Jack Messina had a long ball in the first inning.

Sebastian Rhoades led the Little Lions with two hits in four at bats.

Cumberland Valley totaled 13 hits.  Cumberland Valley was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
