Both teams were strong in the circle on Friday, but State College defeated 2025 Punxsutawney 3-0. Addison Harpster started the game for the Little Lions and recorded 21 outs.
State College got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after MJ McShea doubled to center field, and the Lady Chucks committed an error, each scoring one run.
The Little Lions scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Kara Rhinehart on the seventh pitch of the at-bat.
Harpster earned the win for State College. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking two. Brinley Hallman took the loss for Punxsutawney. The hurler went four innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits, striking out six and walking two.
McShea, Gaby McTavish, Rhinehart, and Sydney Wells each collected one hit for the Little Lions. McShea and Rhinehart each drove in one run for State College.
Olivia Toven, Avary Powell, and Brynn Hergert each collected one hit for Punxsutawney.
State College welcome Mechanicsburg on Monday for their next game.
