It was a thriller to the final buzzer.
Friday, the Juniata boys basketball team battled St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy in a Tri-Valley League instant classic.
It would be the Wolfpack that finished with the win, topping Juniata 43-42.
Leading the way for St. Joseph’s was Jayden Stamm who posted 28, for the lone double digit scorer for the Wolfpack.
Juniata got a strong effort from Jasper Shepps. Shepps finished his evening with a 16-point effort.
Teammate Ricky Guante followed with 10.
Caden Swailes just missed finishing in double digits, posting nine points.
St. Joseph’s took the advantage going into the second quarter, leading 14-13.
Both teams finished with 13 in the second, making it a one-point Wolfpack lead as the two teams went into the intermission.
In the third, St. Joseph’s added another point to their overall lead, outscoring the Indians 8-7.
From there the Wolfpack was able to hold off Juniata in the final stanza to take home the thrilling victory.
