Joelle Bartlett contributed a fiery offensive effort in State College’s Tuesday night field hockey 2-0 victory over Carlisle Area. After a non-scoring back and forth game during the first quarter, Bartlett received an assist pass from Ella Tambroni, and placed a hard reverse chip into the net at 8:40 (Q2). At 11:07 in the third quarter, Bartlett struck again with a hard hit from in front of the goal following a quick pass from Maddy Shomo.
The game was ended early (at 6:30 in the fourth quarter) by the referees following a frightening event. Carlisle back, Mo Gerber, went down hard after being accidently struck by a stick. After several minutes, Gerber was able to walk off the field on her own much to the relief of all observers.
Next game State College hosts Chambersburg on North Complex Field, Thursday September 15, JV 5:00 PM, Varsity 6:30 PM.
