Reed: Total team effort puts MC in the win column over Wildcats

MILL HALL – The Mifflin County Huskies traveled to Central Mountain to take on the Wildcats at Malinak Stadium.

“It was great glad to see our defense step up our power run game team. We met them physically right off the bat,” Coach Shane Breon.

Mifflin County gave the Wildcats all they could handle defeating Central Mountain 42-6.

“Cyrell had a big interception. We struggled offensively to get things going so that was huge for us. He’s also a talented receiver too, he’s somebody to keep your eye on this season.”

The first scoring drive for the Huskies came from a pick-six. Green would take it back for the score to give Mifflin County an early advantage 7-0.

Fletcher Wilson threw a record tying four touchdown passes in the win.

Wilson connected on passes with Dupree Reed,Landon Haigh,and Green for touchdowns Avery Aurand also scored a touchdown.

“It means so much i couldn’t have done without all my team all the hard work everybody really just put it together it really came together today,” said Quarterback Fletcher Wilson.

The Wildcats showed they had stars on the field as well, senior quarterback Hunter Hoy put his heart out there playing well on both sides of the ball despite losing to Mifflin County.

The sophomore running back, linebacker Kole Corman had a good game in the running game.

Thomas Bechdel played well on the defensive end attacking Mifflin County’s offense.

Jacob Rembold made a highlight play sacking Wilson in the first quarter for a five yard loss.

The Huskies defense brought the pressure all night on an evening that Mifflin County just simply out played their opponent.

It was an all team effort in the first half Mifflin County had thirteen different players record a tackle. Mifflin County showed good back up depth as Chase Hartung found Haigh to extend the lead late.

Hartung connected resulting in a 40 yard scoring play.

Wildcats quarterback Hoy would find the endzone on a five-yard keeper Huskies Hunter Tipton blocked the extra point to keep Central Mountain at six points.

Tipton had another strong showing on defense so did much of his team.

The Wildcats would fall to the Huskies 42-6 in the season opener at home.
