HIGHLAND PARK – Mifflin County School District held an open house on Wednesday from 5-7 pm to let outside visitors tour the new facilities.

The time has come and the wait is over for the new generational talent to step foot inside their new home that home is Kish Bank Field at Donald M Chapman lll Stadium and Marcal Paper Field. Mifflin County was treated to a warm welcoming to fans all around during the spring as the baseball team and softball team debut at Capouillez Field and First Quality Field and now it’s time for student athletes to make memories and history at their new home.

Life has always been about change. We just replaced old with new. The greats in the past that have made their landmark on history the old greats that left a piece of history will never be forgotten.  Some of the  greats are the likes of Lydia Hidlay earning Mid-Penn all stars field hockey honors and First Team All Conference honors. Hidlay would go onto play at Susquehanna University.

Other greats were Hailee Sheetz, a Mifflin County standout now playing for Lock Haven, set records in 2022 as the career points record holder ,career goal record holder and senior goal record holder in 2021. She eclipsed 100 career goals in a major achievement.

Replacing the old with the new is now the focal point for a chance for others to show the greatness rising stars that you will get to see this season those are the likes of Bailey Neff,  Alleigh Caruso, Jayda Kanagy and others that are rising stars. Mifflin County will be led by Brittany Wilcox the Indian Valley product someone that knows the history behind Mifflin County field hockey.

Mifflin County Friday nights will look different in 2025 inside the legendary Kish Bank Field at Donald M Chapman lll Stadium under third year coach Shane Breon. Breon is having a lot of success as Mifflin County’s successor.  The hype will be real. Mifflin County won’t have to wait long as they open the season at home in week one against Central Mountain as they are looking to make history at the new stadium.

Mifflin County’s soccer and field hockey teams will play most of their games at Kish Bank Field at Donald M Chapman lll Stadium. All teams except Football will play at least two games at Marcal Field due to schedule conflicts to ensure all the events happen.

The words of most people everything moves faster on turf. The soccer teams will be happy to make a mark at their new home after all those years playing at the Mifflin County Middle School.

This should be a fun season with tons of memories made whether its Friday nights or weekends or even Monday through Thursday. The time has come and the wait is about over. Good luck to all the student athletes and all the coaches. You will all be part of the new history.
