(Homecoming night for the Mifflin County Huskies)

The Huskies come into this game on a 1-game winning streak defeating Palmyra 20-0.   

The Indians come into this game on a 1-game losing streak aftering losing in a tough game against Northern York 30-27.  

It all starts in the running game. Waynesboro is both run and pass heavy. Nathan Nolan averages 117.4 yards per game. 

Mifflin County Huskies Brice Rishel averages 43.3 yards per game.

Last week versus Palmyra, Brice Rishel was really in rhythm in the run game totaling 108 yards averaging 4.2 yards per run with one fumble that didn’t affect Rishels running game.

Last week vs Northern York Waynesboro allowed 289 total yards the Indians gave  up a lot of yards in the quarterback runs allowing Grady Bonin to run for 129 yards.

Waynesboro averages 184.4 yards a game. 

Huskies  average 132.4 yards a game. 

Note MIfflin County will start backup quarterback Chase Hartung for the second straight game. Fletcher Wilson is out due to an undisclosed injury.

Hartung completed 2 passes on seven attempts throwing for 72 yards.

“It was a great confidence booster. Next week we will come out with the same energy defense played pretty well,” Mifflin County quarterback Chase Hartung. “We have a lot of energy going into next week hopefully we can come out with a win.”

MIfflin County rely on their star receivers Cyrell Green,Landon Haigh,Dupree Reed and big plays from Avery Aurand.

Waynesboro lean on their leading receiver Kean Mobley; he only averages 32.6 yards a game so he will need to step it up. Mifflin County has the advantage over the Indians with star leading receiver Haigh averages 50.5 yards a game Mifflin County. Like I said lead on Green, Reed and Aurand. All three of those players play on both sides of the field. All have played well this season.

Rayshawn Hewitt is the lead man for the Indians. The star field general has totaled 724 passing yards this season. Hewitt averages 269 yards a game totaling 4 touchdown passes this season. The junior quarterback in a game once threw three touchdowns in one game. That is what Hewitt averages in a game on four total passes thrown this year.

Hewitt is still rather young so I can see improvement on his way for next season with a team that is in the right direction when it comes to winning games.

Reese Christine has been a key player. Christine can be the guy that can make Hewitt’s night difficult. Christine has an interception in his last two straight games. That is the guy to keep your eye on tonight versus Waynesboro.

The energy will be high in tonight’s game it’s homecoming at Mitchell Field. Look for the Indians to run to set up the pass expect the Indains to be run heavy in this game make Mifflin County work for it on defense Nolan has been great this season. I expect him to have a big game. I just think the Indians are the better team despite losing to a good Northern York team that have now beaten Mifflin County and Waynesboro. The Indians will bounce back in this game to earn their fifth win of the season.
