LEWISTOWN- The Mifflin County Huskies welcomed in the Dubois Lady Beavers for a non conference game at First Quality Field.

Mifflin County were led by strong pitching from star hurler Macy Pietzsch as she went the distance throwing only 65 pitches allowing just a pair of hits in the Huskies 11-1 win over the Beavers.

The Lady Huskies had the hits to their advantage, compiling 14 hits in an offensive explosion. Mifflin County got production up and down the line up today with success to show for those hits to a tune of 11 runs put on the board.

Piper Specht had hits in all three plate appearances. All the of those hits were for singles.the first hit of the game would jump start a struggling Mifflin County team.  Falynn Reinard would start things off by ripping a triple. Jalee Bodtorf would reach base on an error. Ava Baker would fly out to centerfield to end the home half of the first inning. MIfflin County wouldn’t be stopped Baker would collect three hits putting in a 3-4 performance in the teams win over Dubois.

The Huskies got knocks from Carly Dickson ,Rylie Hine and Layla Osman. Hine would hit a home run during her third plate appearance.

“I think what this says about our team is the chemistry because let’s face it the last time we were on this field it was a flip,” said Mifflin County coach Craig Weston. “We flipped the script and today they come out and forgot about the last game. We hit the ball hard from the top to the bottom and that’s what we got to do , hit it hard make them make plays. We had production from you know the entire lineup today.

Dubois showed very little today in the teams 11-1 defeat. Brielle Gray and Tessa Tekely had the teams only two hits Ava Baronick was hit hard to 11 runs given up.

The lady Beavers did turn one double play in the game MIfflin County flashed the leather too Osman robbed Dubois of a hit early in the game.

“I think for a team collectively we’re finally cutting down on our errors and we’re finally stringing hits together throughout the entire lineup and not just pieces of it,” said Riley Hine. Today especially we hit the whole way through the lineup the whole entire game and it was just really good for us.”

Mifflin County will welcome in Altoona On Wednesday for a conference showdown.
