MILROY- In the Mid-Atlantic Babe Ruth Regional championship game Mifflin County locked horns with Westfield for the right to clinch a berth to the World Series. MC would end the tournament as 2025 Babe Ruth 14-year old Mid -Atlantic runners up.

Mifflin County got off to a shaky start. Noah Bunch was hit around to a tune of eight hits in the first inning in an offense explosion by Westfield. Westfield put up 17 in the win over Mifflin County winning by the ten run rule 17-3.

Cohen Leister had two of the team’s five hits in the game.  His teammate and Burham teammate Chase Benfer had one hit while Caden McClure and River Knepp each had a hit in the losing effort.

“I was proud of the boys the way they played,” said Mifflin County coach Denny Yetter. Everyone said they shouldn’t even be here and they proved that they deserve to be here. We just ran into a really good ball club here at the end and I think we had an emotional let down after the nine inning game prior to this. There’s not much good things to say about this game but i’m proud of the way they played throughout the weekend and they’ll be back next year.”

It was an all around great team effort for Westfield showing productive bats up and down the lineup. Louis Mattillelli had a hitting clinic going a perfect 4-4. Jack Mroz Joe Desimone,Christian Olingino Sam Phillips Teddy Hostler all drove in runs in the 17-3 defeat of Mifflin County.
