HERSHEY – A Saturday shoot out.

The Mifflin County Huskies (4-3 ) headed for a road trip to Chocolate World to take on Lower Dauphin (4-3 ) for a Saturday morning clash at Hershey Park Stadium.

The Huskies got off to a slow start without even playing a down they would have a costly offsides penalty on the kickoff. The Falcons would elect to have the ball re-kicked. Mifflin County would kick the ball out of balance Lower Dauphin after all would start at their own 40.

Lower Dauphin was led by power back Hunter Strohm as he rushed for 197 yards in the 35-26 win over Mifflin County Saturday.

The Falcon’s first drive amounted to Strohm getting the bal.  Lower Dauphin would score on a  24-yard passing touchdown from Tyler Newman to Cohen Pollock to give the Falcons the early 7-0 advantage over the visitors.

Mifflin County had some bright spots in the first half. Chase Hartung had 98 yards through the air in the first half where Mifflin County thought that they were still in reach going into the locker rooms only trailing 21-14.

“They have a physical team over there,” said Mifflin County coach Shane Breon. “They have been able to beat some of the top teams and there’s a reason why they have been able to do that.I’m proud of our kids we were able to move the ball. We put up a great fight and i’m proud of my guys.”

Mifflin County had another 100-yard rushing game for the third straight week. Brandon Kauffman had 116 yards in the teams loss.

The Falcons won the physical battle. Mifflin County opened the second half with the ball but had two costly penalties. One of those being a delay of game on a fourth down attempt with one yard to go. They would later go for it and would turn the ball back over to Lower Dauphin.

Mifflin County will head back home to take on Gettysburg next Friday on Senior Night.
