LEWISTOWN – Mifflin County Mat Men welcomed in Chambersburg Trojans for a Saturday morning match. It would be the Huskies coming out on top 39-23.
Gatlin Kauffman opened exhibition for Mifflin County earning a win over Ashton Allen 7-1.
Corvin Edwards pinned Steven Lynch while Dom Siennick pinned his man Jett Rugh.
Caden Breon fell to Atzin Tovar after being pinned. Jude Grillo would later beat Jace Bender all in Exhibition.
Mifflin County began the morning receiving a forfeit.
Huskies power star Paxton Shawver would win by forfeit in weight class 120 to give Huskies an early advantage 6-0.
In Mifflin County’s second match at 127, Layton Bowersox fell to Zach Sherman 16-3.
Sherman would prove to be too much for Bowersox.
The Trojans got on the board earning four points but Mifflin County would still lead 6-4. The Huskies saw their lead grow throughout the morning. The Huskies never backed down and never looked back at the Trojans.
“Chambersburg is a really good team. They didn’t have their full lineup today but they still have quality kids up and these are matches that will make us better as we you know heading into the heart of the season here and in the postseason,” said Mifflin County’s coach Kirby Martin.
Next up for the Huskies was Jake Knable. Knable would have a strong match with Ethan Pazkowski. Both would battle early but Knable would have the upper hand as he would pin Pazkowski extending Mifflin County’s lead 12-4.
Mifflin County would continue to cruise getting good performances all around
“We just gotta keep working hard beating people,you know just working hard at practice getting and 1% better,” said MIfflin County’s Jake Knable. We got a good coach and good team that wants to win and hopefully at districts we can make it too.”
Brian Albert battled throughout his match but he would just come up short against Justin Deneen 6-4 as time expired.
Avery Aurand didn’t disappoint! Aurand earned a commanding win over Jacob Stoner 25-5.
Mifflin County Alonso Torres fell to Omar Henchey by pin.
Brayan Aurand won his match 7-2. At 285, Peyton Kearns would win by forfeit.
Overall, Mifflin County would be too much for the Trojans earning another win on the season.
