Tuesday night the Penns Valley Lady Rams played a double header against Huntingdon.
The Rams topped the Bearcats in both contests to up their record to 6-6 on the season.
Fresh off their win against Bald Eagle, the Rams are starting to make some noise in the always tough Mountain League.
GAME 1
Penns Valley 4, Huntingdon 2
Taylor Bumgardner rendered only three hits and struck out six in the complete game win over Huntingdon in the first game of a twin bill on Tuesday at Lady Ram Field.
“It was a struggle all day at the plate for us. Their pitcher kept us off balance with slower velocity than we are used to seeing. We mis hit the ball all day. Give her an their coaches credit for their game plan. Taylor was a warrior all day in the circle,” said Penns Valley coach Terry Bumgardner. “She did it for three games over two straight days for her team. And, if she doesn’t hit that 3-0 pitch out in the 7th inning of game 2 we probably lose that game. I’m proud of our team overall for finding a way to win.”
Kailen Winkelblech led the offense with two hits, including a solo homer in the fourth inning. Scotty Dinges also added two hits in the win.
Penns Valley 9, Huntingdon 6
GAME 2
Taylor Bumgardner hit a 3-Run Homer with 2-outs in the 7th inning give the Lady Rams their first lead of the game in a 9-6 win over Huntingdon.
PV overcame a 5-run deficit to win the second game of the doubleheader. Bumgardner led the offense with three hits and pitched 6 2/3 in relief while striking out 7. Winkelblech added another two hits.
