PORT ROYAL, PA – Port Royal Speedway is set to roar back to life this Saturday, March 8th, for the highly anticipated Opening Day presented by Packer’s Concessions of the 2025 racing season. Fans can expect thrilling on-track battles as the Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars and Penske Racing Shocks Super Late Models headline the day.
Sprint car fans will be treated to an exciting showdown as the Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars take center stage, with drivers competing for a $6,000 to win payday as a part of a $26,000+ total purse. Defending track champion Mike Wagner has made a major addition to his team this season, bringing on five-time track champion and son, Logan Wagner, as a teammate. The duo will pilot a pair of No. 55 sprint cars, creating a strong combination that is sure to make headlines.
The Penske Racing Shocks Super Late Models will also provide plenty of action, with drivers racing for a $4,000 winner’s share. Dylan Yoder enters the season as the defending track champion after securing his third career title in 2024. However, history presents a tough challenge, as the division has not seen a repeat champion since Mike Lupfer accomplished the feat in 2016 and 2017. Will Yoder be the one to break the streak?
Adding to the excitement off the track, fans in attendance will have the chance to walk away with an incredible prize, as Port Royal Speedway will be giving away a 40” smart TV during the evening’s program. Entry is free once inside the general admission gates—fans should look for Chaplain Doug Mellott and his team by the fairgrounds commercial building to sign up for their chance to win.
Pit gates open at 1PM and general admission gates open at 2:00 PM, so arrive early, secure your seat, and get ready for an action-packed night at “The Speed Palace!” Don’t miss your chance to witness history as the 2025 season gets underway.
General admission tickets for the event are $25, students between the ages of 13 and 18 are $10, and kids 12 and under are free admission. Pit passes for Opening Day will be $35.
