Both teams were strong on the hill on Tuesday, but the Mifflin County baseball team defeated Chambersburg 3-2.
Grady Hoppel started the game for Mifflin County and recorded 20 outs.
A single by Logan Alexander on an 0-2 count put the Huskies on the board in the bottom of the second.
Hoppel earned the win for Mifflin County. The righty gave up three hits and two runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four. Mills took the loss for Chambersburg. The hurler went six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out six and walking two. Aidan Arnold collected the save.
Alexander and Tye Plank were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Huskies. Alexander, Landon Haigh, Jayden Smith, and Madden Weaver each collected one hit for Mifflin County.
Brown provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Chambersburg with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day.
Next up for Mifflin County is a game at Bald Eagle Area on Wednesday.
