Pitching Impressive As Altoona Beats Centre County

Both teams were strong on the hill on Monday, but Altoona defeated Centre County 3-2. Jackson Boob started the game for Altoona and recorded 12 outs.

Centre County got on the board in the fourth inning after Noah Williams hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Altoona Babe Ruth captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the fifth after Centre County committed an error, Jordan Goodson singled, and Brayden Pike grounded out, each scoring one run.

Brody Dull earned the win for Altoona. The reliever allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out none and walking one. Connor Kulka took the loss for Centre County. The righty went five innings, surrendering three runs (one earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking one. Boob began the game for Altoona’s 14. They allowed two hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking three.

Goodson and Pike each drove in one run for Altoona. Braden Hatch led Altoona with two hits in three at bats. Tyler McGough stole two bases. Altoona turned one double play in the game.

Austin Houser and Williams each drove in one run for Centre County. Kulka led Centre County with two hits in three at bats. Centre County  turned one double play in the game.
