Philipsburg-Osceola won big over Bishop Carroll 15-0 on Friday.
The Lady Mounties got on the board in the top of the first inning after Alivia Bizzarri walked, Mia Butler walked, and Macie Bush grounded out, each scoring one run.
Philipsburg-Osceola added to its early lead in the top of the second inning after Morgan Vaughn hit a sacrifice fly, Bizzarri walked, Butler singled, Adi Jarrett tripled to center field, and Ashlyn Havens doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
The Lady Mounties scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. Maddyx Hampton grounded out, scoring one run, Vaughn singled, scoring one run, Emily Gustkey singled, scoring one run, Bizzarri singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Bush doubled, scoring two runs.
Bizzarri earned the win for the Lady Mounties. The starter surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking none. Adison Myers took the loss for Bishop Carroll. The pitcher went three innings, allowing 15 runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out none and walking seven.
Vaughn went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Gustkey went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Mounties in hits. Bizzarri paced Philipsburg-Osceola with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Bush and Vaughn each stole multiple bases for the Lady Mounties. Philipsburg-Osceola ran wild on the base paths, piling up seven stolen bases for the game. The Lady Mounties didn’t commit a single error in the field. Gustkey had the most chances in the field with seven.
Elaina Smith led Bishop the Huskies with one hit in one at bat. Bishop Carroll Varsity Huskies turned one double play in the game.
Philipsburg-Osceola welcome Bellefonte on Monday for their next game.
