Philipsburg-Osceola Lady Mounties Fall To Susquenita Blackhawks After Surrendering Big Fourth Inning

The Susquenita Blackhawks defeated Philipsburg-Osceola Varsity Lady Mounties 11-0 on Monday at Susquenita High School thanks in part to six runs in the fourth inning.

Susquenita got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Ayahna Fleisher singled down the left field line, Lena Beckenbaugh singled to right field, Tierney Stuempfle singled to center field, Esther Feltenberger singled down the right field line, and Philipsburg-Osceola committed an error, each scoring one run.

The Blackhawks scored six runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. An error scored one run, Beckenbaugh drew a walk, scoring one run, Stuempfle hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Feltenberger homered to left field, scoring three runs.

Fleisher earned the win for Susquenita. The hurler allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Alivia Bizzarri took the loss for the Lady Mounties. The starter went four innings, surrendering 11 runs (nine earned) on nine hits, striking out one and walking four.

Cameron Chverchko led Philipsburg-Osceola with two hits in two game . The Lady Mounties turned one double play in the game.

Feltenberger led Susquenita with four runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Fleisher and Feltenberger each collected two hits for the Blackhawks. Susquenita Varsity Blackhawks didn’t commit a single error in the field. Emma Massie had the most chances in the field with six.
