Philipsburg-Osceola Lady Mounties Defeats Tyrone In Pitcher’s Duel

Both teams were strong in the circle on Tuesday, but Philipsburg-Osceola  defeated Tyrone 3-1. Alivia Bizzarri started the game for the Lady Mounties and recorded 21 outs.

Bizzarri struck out 10 batters on the day. The right-handed pitcher also gave up two hits and one run over seven innings while walking three.

A single by Bizzarri put Philipsburg-Osceola on the board in the bottom of the first.

The Lady Mounties added two runs in the second after Bizzarri singled down the left field line on the sixth pitch of the at-bat.

Kaitlyn Rockwell took the loss for Tyrone. The hurler went six innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on seven hits, striking out seven and walking four.

Bizzarri drove the middle of the lineup, leading Philipsburg-Osceola  with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Bizzarri and Emily Gustkey each collected two hits for the Lady Mounties.

Lucy Fogleman went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Layna Dibert and Fogleman each collected one hit for Tyrone. Tyrone turned one double play in the game.

The Lady Mounties will travel to Westmont Hilltop for their next game on Wednesday.
