Alivia Bizzarri hit two home runs and drove in six as Philipsburg-Osceola defeated Clearfield 14-3 on Monday at Clearfield Area High School. Bizzarri homered in the second and fourth innings.
The Lady Mounties got on the board in the first inning after Mia Butler singled, scoring one run.
Philipsburg-Osceola scored five runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. An error scored one run, Maddyx Hampton singled, scoring one run, and Bizzarri homered to center field, scoring three runs.
The Lady Mounties scored two runs in the top of the fourth on a home run to center field by Bizzarri.
Bizzarri stepped in the circle first for Philipsburg-Osceola. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. Megan Wisor started the game for Clearfield. The starting pitcher gave up 16 hits and 14 runs (12 earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking four. Macie Bush appeared in relief for the Lady Mounties.
Philipsburg-Osceola Varsity amassed 16 hits in the game. Hampton, Philipsburg-Osceola’s number nine hitter, led the team with four hits in four at-bats. Emily Gustkey, Adi Jarrett, and Butler each collected multiple hits for the Lady Mounties. Hampton stole two bases. Philipsburg-Osceola ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game.
Madi McBride, Haley Billotte, Raigan Uncles, and Aevril Hayward each collected one hit for Clearfield. McBride, Dalayni Kushner, and Billotte each drove in one run for the Bison. Hayward stole two bases.
Next up for Philipsburg-Osceola is a game against Penns Valley on Wednesday.
