Penns Valley girls rebound Tuesday with strong win over Mounties

A big 7-run second inning propelled Penns Valley to a 10-5 Mountain League road win over Philipsburg-Osceola Tuesday. 

Taylor Bumgardner went the distance striking out six to earn the win. 

The Lady Rams were led at the plate by Scottie Dinges with 3 hits, Avelyn Van Heyst with 2 hits and 3 RBIs, Kailen Winkelblech with 2 hits, Clara Brooks with 2 hits, while Bumgardner and Gracie Riddle both added doubles. 

“We had a ‘come to Jesus’ after Monday’s game. The girls responded and played with outstanding effort. They played together. Taylor gutted it out in the circle and we played solid defense behind her. It was a great bounce back for us,” said Penns Valley coach Terry Bumgardner,
