BELLEFONTE – With Mother Nature looming overhead, Bellefonte and Penns Valley played a very competitive Mountain League boys soccer action.

It was a tale of two halves as the Rams took the advantage at the half while the Red Raiders had the second half advantage en route to the 4-2 victory.

Lightning and Thunder ended the contest prematurely at the 13-minute mark.

Bellefonte led the contest in shots on goal by a 16-9 margin.

However, the Rams had the advantage in corners by a 4-0 margin.

In the first half, Bellefonte led off the game taking right at the Rams back-third. Taking the first shot of the game was John Servant. The Red Raiders took the early momentum.

Both teams gradually took turns in the others side of the field as both were looking to jump onto the scoreboard.

At 24:07, Bellefonte’s Andy Gerasenko hit the back of the net, giving the home fans something to cheer about.

Penns Valley tied things up at the 15:24 mark when Cayden Merill hit the corner of the goal.

With :20 left in the half, Penns Valley was able to connect as the ball went to Marshall Dawson and Dawson did not disappoint, hitting on the goal and taking a 2-1 advantage at the half. In the second, Bellefonte battled its way back into the ball game.

At the 30:05 mark, Bellefonte tied the contest at two when Brady Wertz hit a shot off a rebounded ball.

Less than five minutes later, Bellefonte took back the lead as Ethan Wilson on a breakaway effort.

With 15:59 showing on the clock, Bellefonte once again added to the score on a Austin Hipple goal, icing things as the sky flashed and the thunder roared across the valley.
