LEWISTOWN – It was business as usual Sunday morning for the MIfflin County 12U Cal Ripken All-Stars as they ran rough shot through their competition Saturday to capture a spot in the championship game.

Carrying the number one seed, MIfflin County went up against Juniata County.

The MC team defeated the feisty Juniata team 15-0, the day before.

The Bomb Squad as they were nicknamed were back at it as the captured the title in grand fashion 13-0.

Again, MIfflin County went yard.

For the weekend, MIfflin County blasted six home runs and outscored their opponents 42-2 for the weekend.

Mifflin County’s Colton Aumiller tossed a complete game one-hitter.

The home team allowed only three hits in the weekend series.

Being the home team, MIfflin County picked up two runs to get the offense to start.

Aumiller led things off with a smash to right field as he was able to speed around the bases for the inside-the-park home run.

Liam Shaffer singled down the third baseline for a single.

His time on base was limited as he scored on an Ezra Beamer singled into left field, making it a 2-0 advantage.

Defensively, MIfflin County continued to dominate in the second, keeping the Juniata County team at bay.

Mifflin County came out and found a little two-out lightning as it pounded out nine runs.

Jett Powell kept the inning alive with a seemingly innocent single.

Cooper Walters joined Powell on base with a single of his own.

Jude Zook reached on an error, Walters and Powell both scored on the miscue.

Noah Wray singled in Zook, upping the lead to 5-0 advantage.

With Lucas Shawver, Noah Wolfkiel and Jaxon Strohecker all on the base paths, Aumiller plastered a shot over the centerfield fence for the grand slam, upping the lead to 9-0.

When the dust settled in the inning, MIfflin County took the commanding 11-0 advantage.

That would all be the MIfflin County defense would need as it allowed just one hit from Juniata.

Picking up the hit for Juniata was Koltlyn Martin.

In the end, MIfflin County had too much fire power, capturing the title and sending them to states.

With their second place finish, the Juniata County team will be moving on.
