LEWISTOWN – It’s their time to shine. Sunday a yearly tradition returned to the Rec Park baseball fields as the future of Mifflin County’s local baseball scene took center stage to be recognized as the MIfflin County Youth baseball League held its 2024 Opening Ceremonies at Frank Pupo Memorial Field.

Cal Ripken teams from all over the county converged to be recognized in front of members of family, friends and fans as they kick off the official 2024 season.

Throwing out the first pitch were Pennsylvania Trooper Shane Varner and Mifflin County baseball players Caleb McKnight and Tye Plank.

Teams lined up in the outfield as every players had their names as they ran onto the field.

The League sported 20 teams this season, up from last year.
