In day one of PIAA action, the MIfflin. County wrestlers started competition Thursday.
In the preliminaries, 152-pounder
Parker Kearns topped Nate Jones of Waynesburg Central with a decision 6-2.
In the Championship round one,
121 – pounder Hunter Johnson topped Scotty Raymond (Pocono Mountain East), 6-0.
It was a tough battle at 152 when Northampton’s Dagen Condomitti topped Parker Kearns by a 7-2 decision.
Avery Aurand battled but fell at 172 as Talan Hogan (Pennridge) outlasted him, winning, 5-2.
In the heavyweight division at 285 Donegal’s Nicholai Brotzman topped Peyton Kearns, 3-1 TB2
In the Consolation Round one,
172 – pounder Aurand kept his run alive as he muscled out a 3-2 decision over Mason Richards (Spring-Ford).
At 285 – Chambersburg’s Avery Kuhns topped Peyton Kearns in a hard fought 2-0 Sudden Victory win.
Going into Friday competition, Johnson, Parker Kearns and Avery Aurand are still in competition while Peyton Kearns, despite falling in two tough opening day battles, ended his season.
