Mifflin County JV girls drop Palmyra

LEWISTOWN-  Mifflin County welcomed in Palmyra for a Junior Varsity girls matchup at the MIfflin County High School Gym.

The Lady Huskies would get out to a fast start as MIfflin County would lead 9-0 before the Cougars coaching staff would call a timeout.

Mya Felmlee would go to the line to shoot two both.  Mifflin County would extend its lead 11-0 Felmlee would go 6-for-8 at the foul line in the game.

In the end, the Huskies came out victorious winning 45-30.

Alyse Lindenmuth would get the Cougars on the board on a two pointer. Lindenmuth would have a big game  as she would score 17 points. In those seventeen points, she would have seven total two pointers and one three pointer.

Mifflin County was led by Felmlee as she had 13 total points on evening. Malaina Maxwell was second in scoring with 11 total points. Reagan Kenepp would have ten three players were in double figures.

Well Defensively down there (Palmyra)we gave up 40 points,” said Mifflin County coach Brett Leister. “We lost 40-26 but tonight we threw a little bit of a different defense at them.The girls did a tremendous job . Each one of them stepped up and did something very good for the team. And going forward, we have three games left and I told the girls you know you play with that type of effort and that type of intensity there’s no reason why we can’t win out the last three games.”

Palmyra shot the ball well late and tried to mount a comeback. The Cougars second scorer would be Emayln Funck she would have five points in a game. For a majority of the game Lindenmuth would carry the team and the Cougars comeback would fall short falling to the Purple and White 45-30.
