LEWISTOWN – After an intense and thrilling game, the MIfflin County Huskies defeated the Susquenita Blackhawks with just one goal seconds before ending the first quarter.
During the first quarter, both teams battled for the ball and attempted to score by earning penalty corners and shots on goal. In the last 30 seconds of the game, Jayda Kanagy received a ball from Bailey Neff and took advantage of the break away to put one in the back of the cage.
The next three quarters were full of pressure and smart plays by both teams which resulted in a competitive game. The Huskies totaled three offensive corners and two shots on goals. The Huskies defense was relentless and tenacious as the Blackhawks used their strong offense to earn them 14 penalty corners and 18 shots on goal throughout the game. Paige Snyder earned 14 saves and helped the team lead to another shut out.
Alleigh Caruso also had a stick save on a defensive corner to prevent the Blackhawks from tying the game.
