The MIfflin Huskies field hockey team defeated the Lewisburg Dragons 2-0 in a well played game by both teams. The Huskies took advantage of the offensive corners to rack up two goals to win the game.
In the first quarter, the Huskies had three offensive corners but fell short on scoring with the advantage. The Dragons had four offensive corners but could not get past the Huskies defense. Aubree Dobson shut down the Dragons with a defensive save to keep the score 0-0.
The Huskies kicked it into gear during the second quarter and the game began more intense. The Huskies worked together to earn a penalty corner where Bailey Neff received a ball from Jayda Kanagy to lock in a lead against the Dragons.
The third and fourth quarters were still a battle between both teams, but the Huskies dominated the Dragons with shots on goal and offensive corners. During the fourth quarter, Hayleigh Fultz received a pass from Bailey Neff to earn another goal to end the game 2-0.
The Huskies have an undefeated season so far (3-0) and have yet to be scored on this season. Mifflin County’s next home game on September 4th. JV plays at 5:30pm and Varsity plays at 7:00.
