Mifflin County field hockey team dominates Braves

LEWISTOWN- The MIfflin County Huskies field hockey team and Shikellamy Braves had a physical game all 4 quarters. The Huskies earned their first shut out of the season and played consistent hockey throughout each quarter. The Huskies had 15 offensive penalty corners, 37 shots on goal. The strong line of defense didn’t allow Paige Snyder (goalie) to receive any shots on goal from the Braves.

In the end  the Lady Huskies came out the winner of an 8-0 shut out over the Braves.

Jayda Kanagy was the first to score in the first quarter assisted by Brynn Rowe during a free hit. The Huskies had five penalty quarters and the Braves had one within the first quarter. 

In the second quarter, Addie Fultz scored on a penalty corner that was inserted from Brynn Rowe. The Huskies also earned another four penalty corners and the Braves had their second and last penalty corner of the game. 

After halftime, the Huskies kicked it into gear and put up three more goals.

Addie Fultz received an insert from Alleigh Caruso to put one in the back of the cage on a penalty corner. Jayda Kanagy was also successful on scoring during another penalty corner. The last goal of this quarter was completed by Bailey Neff on a pass from Addie Fultz. The huskies had 4 penalty corners during this quarter.

The Huskies weren’t finished scoring and added another three goals to finish out their scoring. Bailey Neff scored the next goal on a penalty corner. Jayda Kanagy earned a hat trick by taking the ball down the field and putting another ball in the back of the cage. To finish the scoring, Hayleigh Fultz tipped a ball in the cage from Brynn Rowe. The Huskies had two penalty corners during the 4th quarter.
