The Rockets played the role of the spoiler in this one.

It was a tough night for the Huskies as they hung in tough and battled to the very end, falling 3-0.

James Buchanan outshot the Huskies on the night 12-7 while Mifflin County dominated on the

“We came out aggressive in the first ten to fifteen minutes with our runs and connecting passes. Got some corner kicks but all that was missing was getting on the scoreboard,” said coach Todd Peters. “Then we hit a wall and didn’t challenge the ball on some very important plays. These plays along with losing some aggression, contributed to their two goals.”

Despite having numerous chances from the corner opportunities, the ball just didn’t fall right for the feisty Huskies team.

“We had some good runs to start the second half again but couldn’t deliver that final pass to good spaces or our teammates,” said Peters. “

Taking a 2-0 advantage into the second half, the Rockets hit an insurance goal off a direct kick that proved to be the game clincher, taking the wind out of the sails of the MIfflin County players.

“They scored a direct kick that seemed to deflate us 13 minutes into the 2nd half,” said Peters. “Anticipation and aggressiveness in the midfield must improve and the delivery in our attacking third.”

On a positive note for the Huskies, goalie Jacks Suydam smothered nine saves in his time in the net.

With the win, Mifflin County falls to 0-1 while James Buchanan improves to 2-1.
