Mifflin County All-stars fall in Tough Game Against Media

Mifflin County couldn’t keep up with Media and fell 15-2 on Sunday.

Media got on the board in the top of the third inning after Zalota doubled, scoring three runs, Finan drew a walk, scoring one run, and S Donaghy drew a walk, scoring one run.

Media scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fifth inning. Karl Shirey induced Paine to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored, S Donaghy singled, scoring one run, Chiclone drew a walk, scoring one run, and S Robinson grounded out, scoring one run.

Media scored five runs on two hits in the top of the sixth inning. Donaghy drew a walk, scoring one run, Paine doubled, scoring two runs, S Donaghy grounded out, scoring one run, and a dropped third strike scored one run.

Blaze Shreffler stepped on the hill first for Mifflin County. The righty allowed eight hits and five runs over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.

Elliot Yetter and Shirey each drove in one run for Mifflin County.

Media tallied 12 hits in the game. Zalota went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Media in hits. S Donaghy, Paine, and Zalota each drove in three runs for Media. Dilenno collected two hits for Media in four at bats. Finan paced Media with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Media turned one double play in the game.
