Mifflin County 14u All-Stars Defeated By Caldwell Chiefs

The Mifflin County 14u All-Stars fell to Caldwell Chiefs 6-3 on Friday.

Mifflin County got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run.

The Caldwell Chiefs captured the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first after Erik Gadhok singled, and Gadhok scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.

Kooper Walters singled, which helped Mifflin County tie the game at two in the top of the second.

The Chiefs captured the lead, 5-2, in the bottom of the fifth after David Chichelo singled, Isaac Stern was struck by a pitch, and JT Petrillo walked, each scoring one run.

Landon Rhodes stepped on the hill first for Mifflin County. The right-handed pitcher gave up five hits and four runs over four and one-third innings, striking out four and walking four. Jake Vanderclock led things off on the hill for Caldwell. They surrendered five hits and two runs (zero earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking eight.

Bo Benny and Liam Shaffer each collected two hits for Mifflin County. Walters, Jett Powell, and Shaffer each drove in one run for M.C. had patience at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. Walters, Derek Wert, and Colton Aumiller led the team with two bases on balls each.

CJ Cifelli, Vanderclock, Petrillo, Chichelo, Gadhok, and Adam Sepe each collected one hit for Caldwell. Petrillo, Chichelo, Matteo Mancuso, Gadhok, and Stern each drove in one run for the Chiefs. Gadhok stole three bases. Caldwell had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. The Chiefs ran wild on the base paths, collecting eight stolen bases for the game. Caldwell turned one double play in the game.
