Mifflin County couldn’t keep up with State College 12U and fell 9-1 on Friday.
Mifflin County got on the board in the second inning after Kayla Velez doubled, scoring one run.
State College took the lead in the bottom of the second. Ryleigh Lintal drew a walk, scoring one run, to give the Little Lions the leg up, 2-1.
Calysta Steffie earned the win for State College. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking three. Grayce Napikoski took the loss for MIfflin County. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up nine runs (six earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking five.
Kayla Velez led MC with one run batted in. They went 1-for-2 on the day. Velez, Brenna Benny, Napikoski, and Callie Kuhns each collected one hit for the MC All-Stars.
State College tallied eight hits in the game. Ellie Horner and Abby Syzmanski each collected two hits for State College. Milana Lowe and Horner were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for State College. Lowe, Addison Boyer, Horner, and Syzmanski each stole multiple bases for State College. The Little Lions had a strong eye at the plate, piling up five walks for the game. State College ran wild on the base paths, collecting 11 stolen bases for the game. State College were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Lintal made the most plays with six.
