MCVEYTOWN – McVeytown came out big in its 42-0 victory over the Terrance Tigers in CKFL Peewee football action Sunday afternoon.
Lincoln Knable got the opening kickoff and took it to the house going 52 yards to the endzone. Calvin Napikoski then found Matthew Hartsock to complete the two point conversion giving the Eagles an 8-0 lead.
Then a little while later, McVeytown struck again as Napikoski went 50 yards on a punt return for the score before Knable scored the extra point extending the lead to 15-0.
Then on the kickoff, Hartsock was able to get the ball back for McVeytown after the ball got loose and immediately jumped on top of it.
Napikoski then went 43 yards for the touchdown and again it was Knable who scored the extra point.
The Tigers defense was able to make a play during the second quarter as Owen Deans scored a fumble recovery.
But the Eagles were able to hold them defensively and quickly moved down the field before Knable finished the drive off with a one yard run into the endzone. Dean Armstrong got the extra point making it 29-0.
Then in the fourth quarter, Alexander Weaver scored a two yard touchdown as well as the extra point making it 36-0.
But then Canyan Brown powered his way down the field, going 11 yards for the touchdown and scored the final points of the game.
The Tigers along with Deans had some big plays from Ashtyn Wagner as well Karter Terry who were making some big tackles.
McVeytown also had some big plays defensively as Cael Conner recovered a fumble, while Cole Laughlin and Knable were delivering some big hits.
The Eagles also won in the Mighty Mights game by the final of 9-6.
McVeytown will host the Burnham Bulldogs on Sunday with the Mighty Mights starting at noon and the Peewee game beginning at 1 p.m.
The Terrance Tigers will host the Juniata Little Indians on Sunday with the Mighty Mights playing at noon and the Peewee game at 1 p.m.
